Scope of Work
SIOTS provided comprehensive Initial Outfitting and Transition (IO&T) services in support of the $8.6M renovation of the Urology Department at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). The 8,000 SF project was delivered in multiple phases, allowing the Department to maintain limited operations throughout the entire construction.
As one of the nation’s premier high-acuity military medical centers, WRNMMC required equipment standardization, optimized workflows, and precise functionality to support patient care. SIOTS’s scope included detailed IO&T planning and execution, medical equipment validation and planning, BMET services, interior design drawing revisions, space planning, and FF&E coordination. A complete CID package was developed with FF&E quotes and selections tailored to departmental requirements.
The team worked closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new medical equipment valued at $5.9M, while maintaining continuity of operations. Equipment placement was optimized through workflow and functional analysis, enhancing safety, efficiency, and user satisfaction in the newly renovated Urology Department.
